Here are some highlights of our VLI class today:
a) Salvation begins our journey towards spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational wholeness. Humans are a whole – healing and salvation is for the whole person, not just for spiritual part or our physcial part. God heals every part…. We are saved/healed, we are being saved/healed, and will be saved/healed.
b) Eph 2:3-6 – “among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest: but God…..made us alive together with Christ ”
There is always a “but God” deal. We were dead, but God made us whole. Wow – what a verse…
c) The sinned against may have a worldview that is distorted and wrong. We must go to them and step into their world. We can model and reflect God to the sinned against when they can not ‘see’ Him themselves. As we step into their world and help them work through their issues, we can bring them to God where He can re-new their lives and bring them wholeness.
d) Freedom and transformaing begins and ends with the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 3:17 – “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Look up to God and find who we are in Christ before looking inwards at our problems.
e) Why there is no condemnation in the struggles between flesh and spirit….. If there is no struggle, there is no Spirit. Having struggles inside between your flesh and spirit shows that God is working on you. If He wasn’t, the flesh would not be in stuggle because it would of already won.
